About Mr. Mitch
Mr. Mitch
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I grew up in a seaside town called Shellharbour which is one hour south of Sydney, Australia. Growing up on the beach I was very active in all water sports. After I graduated high school I then moved north to a town called Lismore, where I completed my Bachelors degree in Marine Science, Fisheries and Aquaculture management from Southern Cross University. After completing my degree, I obtained my Diploma of Education from Charles Sturt University. In 2008, I obtained my Masters Degree in Education from Framingham State University in the United States.
During my time teaching at Seoul International School I had the opportunity to coach varsity boys soccer, middle school swim team, soccer booster coach, and the coordinator of the swimming boosters program. In 2009/2010 I was the curriculum leader for social studies and have been the head of department for the 5th grade team in Seoul.
I love to travel and I have been lucky enough to visit and work in many cities around the world. I have lived in Europe where I worked as a lifeguard, in the Bahamas where I worked for Walt Disney teaching people how to sail, and Canada where I worked for a yacht brokerage. Korea being a great country in itself has lured my wife and I into teaching positions first in Busan for one year, Joenju for two years, and had taught in Seoul for 4 years. Currently this is my 5th year in Thailand and I have attained the position of grade 5 team leader. I have also coached EDP swimming and soccer. I enjoy teaching at Ruamrudee International School, and I only hope that there will be many more years to come.
I'm married to Ms. Elissa who teaches Pre-school here at Ruamrudee and we have a 5 year old boy named kaimika and a 1.5 year old girl named Alani Malee. I love my role as being a dad and teaching them the ways of the world.
I would love to get to know all parents that are also part of the 5-2 class just as much as the students that attend each day. I hope to see you all at the Open House that is coming up soon. Please keep up to date of what is going on in the classroom by frequently reading the parent news section of this website.
Sincerely,
Mr. Mitch
